It’s great that Moses said in verse 5 here would be what Jesus later references in Matthew 22:37, Mark 12:30, and Luke 10:27, in two different encounters with others from three different perspectives (though Luke makes no reference to Jesus saying this in the Second Temple). But Moses doesn’t mention to love others as we do ourselves anywhere in this book; rather, God had already said that in Leviticus 19:18, and Jesus refers the two together in all the aforementioned passages. But this chapter is found in page 107 of the NKJV Bible I have for this four-translation project, pages 137-138 of the NASB Bible (Old Testament (1995 version)), pages 215-216 of my VOICE copy, and pages 219-220 of my Amplified Bible (Classic Edition) copy.
There’s a reminder about avoiding disobedience in this chapter after the Shema (verses 4-9), but that doesn’t take up the majority of what’s in these verses. Yet the NKJV titles it “Caution Against Disobedience” ⚠️ I remember saying over a year ago, when I was writing on Leviticus 26, that even the Bible translators were afraid of God 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 read this for more information. But no post I make can save us from wrath; I’m simply hoping to clear some misconceptions, as the Holy Spirit leads. For God didn’t appoint any of us for wrath, just as 1 Thessalonians 5:9 says, but He instead wants eternal life for everyone (1 Timothy 2:4, 2 Peter 3:9) 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💝💝💝💝💖💖💖💖💘💘💘💘💗💗💗💗
And when it comes to teaching the next generation about Jesus, we should let them know about His goodness, first. For I’m convinced the “Church” is able to erase this truth that leads us all to repentance (see Romans 2:4) and even claim that no one has a chance to believe Him, whether they’ve met a Christian or not. But it’s because of those “godly” people who try to keep me from preaching hope to the nations that God will erase the nation(s) that work against Him, first against the hypocrites then everyone who listens to them. Indeed, most people can’t really notice God’s love for them unless it’s demonstrated in a way they can understand. And He always makes it possible for us to do that 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖🩷❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜🤎🖤🩶🤍💟💕💞💓💗💗💗💗💗❣️💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹 not that the experiences should be worshiped, but I guess we don’t really know what to do with them 🤷🏼♂️ it’s too bad those guys in charge can harp on any sin (like idolatry, impregnanting one’s girlfriend, or even a strange half-truth) to the point the hearers can recognise they’re not safe and fear safety doesn’t exist (but see Ezekiel 34:28!) — and false accusations do exist, too, so someone can ruin our lives more than once out of spite and even claim God is out for blood! Jesus never makes enemies out of others. Never.
I don’t really have anything special to add here, and other thing I may have in mind can be endless and even unrelated to this post, so I’ll end it here and pray I get more hours at work; I don’t have very many right now. I’ll see you in chapter 7! It will be hard to talk about for me, though.
