Finishing Up By Saudi Arabia (Numbers 1:1-10:10)

I just randomly opened my VOICE Bible to a page in Exodus, and I should’ve noted then there was a calendar for the Hebrews to observe (it was on page 101). This book begins about a year after they leave Egypt for good (but see Deuteronomy 28:68). This section of Numbers is also found in pages 77-84 of the NKJV Bible I have for this part of the journey, pages 98-107 of the NASB Bible (Old Testament, 1995 version), pages 160-172 of my VOICE copy, and pages 159-174 of my Amplified Bible (Classic Edition) copy.

The Numbers 10:11 verse mentions that the Israelites set out from the mountain on day 20 of month 2 of their second year after leaving Egypt, so I think all this took 19 days for the Israelites to prepare for the journey to Canaan so they could take everything there. But I don’t want to skip ahead (though I’ll probably be largely bored of most of what’s in this section of the book as well) โ€” when I first did Bible notes on a New Oxford Annotated Bible in 2012, I noticed it had taken a month (a full lunar cycle of ~29.5 days) for Moses to write Leviticus, and the second year started by God ordering Moses to count all the people in that nation. And given the numbers (no pun intended), and the fact that Israel was the fewer of population (Deuteronomy 7:7), there were more people groups that were in the earth at the time in which each one had a greater population (though that was after the events of this book took place). It says in the Scriptures, “In a multitude of people is a kingโ€™s glory, but in the scarcity of people is a princeโ€™s ruin” (Proverbs 14:28 (NASB)). The Lord Jesus never enjoys it when a population or people group declines, and that’s happening in a lot of countries right now, seeing that the world’s getting to crowded, mostly in Asia and Europe ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ I pray against any population decline, but it may be better not to even bother getting married to have children, for Paul said long, long ago in 1 Corinthians 7:25-31 what he wrote down for a reason, for we’ve been in the last days since Jesus ascended back to Heaven.

I’ll say nothing else in this post for today, so if you want to send me a prayer request, you can do so at ron.outland4727@gmail.com! I’ll read each prayer, write them down, then stick them to my bedroom walls! And don’t worry, I somehow got my phone working enough today to write all this down! (I forgot to go to the library anyway.) I’ll see you in the next post, where we discuss chapter 1! Later, guys!
