Abimelech Again: The Strange Episode of Genesis 20 (09/12/2019)

Hi, friends! Sorry it’s been a bit longer than I anticipated, I’m thinking Jesus didn’t want me to write anything on this yet, at least, not until now. This chapter is found in pages 10-11 of my NKJV Bible, pages 13-14 of my NASB Bible, and pages 23-24 of both my VOICE and Amplified Bible (Classic Edition) copies. Abraham goes off to Abimelech a second time (you may remember him from chapter 12), and he tells of Sarah being his sister once again, but when she goes to meet Abimelech, God soon prophesies something over him. He warned him not to touch her, which, thank God, he didn’t 😌😌😌 also, this note will be pretty short, because I just received some shocking news: I’m getting new Awaken pastors, which I’ve been nervous about before, but they behave about the same, if not exactly the same as my current Awaken pastor does. (You can go to the Awaken Facebook page for more details about this revelation.) I don’t know how to process this… but I don’t want to talk about it here, at least, not today. I’m at least grateful that other good leaders exist, though. I also learned that Abraham was a prophet, which was news to me until I read deeper into this chapter one day over five years ago β€” I feel this chapter is pretty underrated, actually. It’s the same with a Bethel song I heard over the weekend as we were in Prescott, too, I think, not to mention the whole album. I wish we could carry the fun forever. But thank God new moves of the Spirit happen when we congregate together as one man! That’s what Lisa said tonight; I think Jesus got her to say that πŸ˜‡πŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ™πŸΌπŸ€²πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ I definitely did feel less good about inviting any preacher not from Two Rivers or Hillsong during the retreat, though. For I heard something badly explained during that time once again, and I think it gives room for demonic perversion, actually. I don’t know how I’m going to listen to anything in which the message would be impossible to manipulate. I think we’re all in for a long and possibly very painful road ahead, though, seeing that this nation is getting more and more divisive each day, the Amazon forest keeps burning, and we’re not seeing any help nearby. Pray that none of us fall away… or get killed by an unforgiving organization.

(Sometime after this note was published…) I have some good news, though, you know how you have the whole stones and sand in a jar analogy? There was a second set of stones (all were larger) that Lisa presented in which those black stones were things done in godliness, such as spending time with the Lord Jesus. I told my new friend as Lisa was speaking that there’s lots of hateful people “warning” you that you should do some important stuff and skip out on Jesus. I’ll describe it in the next few posts, though.

Any prayer requests you might have? Leave one (or more) in my e-mail: ron.outland4727@gmail.com! I’ll read each one, write them down, and tape them to my bedroom walls! (It’ll be on paper.) Have a safe evening, everyone! ✌🏼
